Damian Peach Venus and Jupiter meet (2015/06/30 23:18 UT)
Hi all,
Here is shot of tonight's conjunction. I was very lucky to see it due a large approaching thunder storm (lightening flashes nearby!) Luckily the clear gap in the sky was in the right place for a change!

Damian Peach Jupiter movie - March 2015 (2015/06/19 08:58 UT)
Hi all,
Find attached a complete rotation movie of the planet made from the images taken in early March this year.

Damian Peach Saturns ever changing appearance (2015/06/16 05:15 UT)
Hi all,
Find attached a montage spanning the past 11 years of my images showing Saturn crossing from southern summer to northern summer.
The change in the tilt of the rings is of course dramatic, but other changes are also nicely seen, such as the ever changing
colours of the belts and zones. Also the bluish colouration of the hemisphere that is pointing away from the Sun is apparent,
and how this vanishes as more sunlight falls on the hemisphere that has been out of sunlight for several years.
The great 2011 storm and its aftermath are also apparent.
The images were taken from various locations - UK, Tenerife, Barbados and Cyprus.
Now to complete the Saturnian year.....though still some years left yet before that is achieved!
Best Wishes

a little anniversary for me 2009/01/26 Jan Adelaar
Hi Fellows,
Bringing back memories, it is a little anniversary for me.
I am imaging 5 years on Saturn right now, starting with a 7" STF maksutov and a ToUcam,
a very nice telscope but the hunger towards the C9,25 did flip the coin.
Many many hours of observing, imaging, processing and again processing brought me at
the point on which I am now and thanks to you all of keeping me inspired...
so I thought looking back as my personal heritage might be nice, hope you enjoyed my struggle
best wishes Jan

Happy New year 2009 2009/01/07 Richard McKim
Here's wishing you all a Happy New Year, a little late but better than
never. With daytime temperatures of -11 degrees C in Great Britain today I thought
I should send a souvenir of a warmer place sketched last summer holidays.

Observation of Sirius B - Feb 8th, 2008.... from Damian Peach. 2008/05/24
Here is an image showing the Sirius B, made from the site of the Winter Star Party in the Florida Keys.
250mm Mewlon @ F50 under very good seeing. Several people looked through the scope and the pup was nicely
placed between the diffraction spikes. I also visually saw it (quite plainly) in a TEC160 refractor and a C11.
It was quite satisfying to see this rare sight for the very first time...
Best Wishes
Damian

And finally... from David Arditti 2007/12/24
An object from beyond the solar system.
Merry Christmas.

Merry Jupiter conjunction from John H. Rogers2007/12/15
Hello everyone,

Seasonal best wishes on the occasion of Jupiter's solar conjunction on
Dec.23.

By the way, in the October BAA Journal we published another item summarising
the progress of Jupiter's global upheaval this year, and for those of you
who don't get the Journal, the PDF is on our web site under 'Publications',
at:

JBAA%20117-5%20Rogers.pdf

Although I haven't sent out any updates recently, analysis continues and I
hope to put more on the web site in the New Year.

Best wishes for a very happy Christmas and cloud-free 2008,

John
