Dear all Mercury observers-
Mercury was imaged July 11th at 15:50 UT (just over an hour ago) .
I was home today for a personal reason. But the sky was crystal blue and I took
a chance to image Mercury at 12 degrees away from the sun.
Mercury displays a beautiful fat gibbous with possible dark albedo features like
Solitudo Aphrodites to the north (toward the terminator) and Solitudo Argiphontas
little to the south (near the limb).
Also a possible bright area just south of the center could be Pieria.
I will add this to my montage.
