Hi Jupiter Observers.

After many days of cloudy weather, the sky cleared in Houston Texas USA. The
subtropical jet has been located over the S. Central USA and blowing storms
through regularly.

Here is an observation from March 22nd 2002 01:58 UT. The S. tropical zone
is very quite in this image contrasting sharply with the activity in the NEB
and the EZ festoons. The sky was clear, transparency 9/10, and seeing was
average, 5/10, with an 8 MPH E wind. No dew was present. The weather was
mild with the temperatures in the 60s F in the early evening.

Total Exposure Times:

Integrated Light (No IR rejection): 17 x 0.16 secs.

Seeing fair-good (5-7.)
Transparency clouded, aside from occasional breaks (clouded- 5.0mag.) Wind WNW (0-5mph.) No dew.

Equatorial Diam= 38.8"
Altitude=46 degs.

i all,

Here is an image from this evening. A brief break in the clouds (lasting about 2 mins!) allowed this
Integrated Light image to be obtained of L2=270.

Despite the almost impossible transparency, seeing was again reasonable. The images clearly show WS3
and B5 and B6, as well as the STB streak, and SSTB oval.

The GRS longitudes are again presented tomorrow tonight, so hopefully transparency will improve!.

Best Wishes

Damian
