Dear Jupiter observers,

here is last night observation images, seeing start to degrade along the session from 7-6 to 5-4. Resolution achieved and low dynamic range of the camera are not sufficient to state any definitive conclusion regarding the evolution of the two SSTC WOS, never the less in these series I guess some merging between them.

Good observations all,

Hi Jupiter Observers.

Here is an observation from Houston Texas March 24th 2002 01:13 UT. The sky
was clear, transparency 8/10, and seeing was good, 7/10, with an 3mph S.
wind. No dew was present. The weather was mild with the temperatures in the
60s F in the early evening.

Ed Grafton, Houston Texas, ST5C CCD and a 14 inch f/11 Celestron SCT
Barlow Projection to f/27 aprox .21 arc seconds per pixel.
  Image data:
5 BLUE + IR rejection, .3 seconds, SBIG filter
5 GREEN + IR rejection, .3 seconds, SBIG filter
5 RED	+ IR rejection, .3 seconds, SBIG filter
~50 clear filter, No IR .12 seconds, SBIG filter

Hi all,

Great recent images of the SSTC/BA/GRS from Damian, Paulo and Clay!

I'm continuing to have very bad seeing and, to make things worse, today I
had to image during the day in order to get the GRS longitude well placed.
With wind blowing and without being able to use the tip-tilt stabilizer
(does not work with a considerable sky brightness), I had to image with the
clear filter. This gave me very grainy images due to the short exposures
needed, a high cloud coverage and a sky signal that was higher than the
planet's signal.

Well, as you can see from the attached image, I continue to visualize a
double SSTC spot as yesterday. But looking at Damian's image, also obtained
today but with much better seeing conditions, it is likely that I have been
getting a non-specific result. Your thoughts?

Wish you all the best seeing and great observations!

Antonio

Hi all,

Here is a small time-lapse animation (prepared from cyl. projections with
PC-JUPOS, aligned acording to sysIII) of the SSTC wos from Mar 07 to Mar
24. Hope it can be useful.

Best wishes

Antonio
