天気がさえないので、暇に任せてGRS付近の画像をまとめてみました。
BAやSSTZの小白斑の動きの様子がつかめると思います。

GRS付近の変化状況の考察について

Thankyou for the latest images from March 29-31; here is the montage. Don
Parker's images seem to confirm Antonio's view that the merged oval is now
a single oval.

Concerning the doubling on March 28, Paulo asked "Why there's still a
wobbling?" Perhaps the two ovals' cores were still distinct and
spiralling into each other then; or perhaps a single newly merged oval was
oscillating before it stabilised. In Voyager movies, the Great Dark Spot
on Neptune wobbled considerably, and a NEB barge on Jupiter oscillated too
(between long-and-thin and short-and-fat).

Also on the image sets we can note:
>> The S.Eq.Dist. passed the GRS around March 22 but has not become any
more visible as a result.
>> The merged barge in NEB (opposite the p. end of the GRS) was nearly
destroyed by that NEB rift on March 26, but it has now reappeared,
although very small.

Best wishes,

John Rogers April 1.

Antonio Cidadao (BA Report)

Hi all,

While reviewing some of the images I obtained since late last year, it
looks that BA has been progressively increasing its size. Is there precise
quantitative data Hans-Joerg?

Jus for illustrative purposes, I attach a mosaic with jupiter images at
the
same image scale, and a higher magnification mosaic of BA where I made a
compensation for differences in Jupiter apparent diameter with time.
