NEB DISTURBANCE?
Note images jup02_1120b & c....I do believe we are having the beginnings of
a NEB disturbance that is not only affecting the span (latitude) of that
belt, but also having convective disturbance effects into the NEZ and the
NTrZ as well. This considerable mophological variation begins for these
areas at about 50 deg I / 266 deg III. A span for perhaps 20-30 degrees
following these longitudes should be monitored carefully. Note the
abruptness (jup02_1120c) at which this disturbed area ceases at about Long.
1 121deg., Long 2 336 deg.

Jupiter imaged in very poor/cloudy conditions; nonetheless some very nice
detail is noted along the n. edge of the NEBn and into the NTrZ. Overall,
the NEB has become very disrupted and without clearly defined latitudinal
restrictive boundaries through this span of the planet. The NEZ appears to
be equally disturbed with considerable transient activity in coincident
longitudes.

Some incredibly interesting activity and changes going on in the NEB, from
all latitudinal expanses of that belt and extending perhaps into both the
NEZ and the NTrZ; the NEB appears to be in total morphological change
without predictable form....I think we have at least the beginning of a NEB
disturbance.

Note the changes from jup02_1120b, the disturbed area of the NEB suddenly
ceases at Long. I 121 / Long. II 336 degrees. A very nice dark oval
marking/segment appears in the STB region near the CM. Note the very dark
and delicate NEZ festoon emanating from very near the CM.

Some very nice activity pr. the GRS; note also the beautiful split
delineation of the NEB in mid latitudes of that belt. Very nice dark
streak/oval and associated activity to its north in the N. temperate areas
approaching the CM.

Clearly the GRS is intensifying in both darkness as in color, particularly
its southern hemisphere. Very nice activity pr. the GRS seen here, and this
seems to be on the increase.... Also note turbulence to south of GRS as
well as fol. within the SEB.

Hi Jupiter Observers
Here is an observation from Houston Texas November 20th 2002 10:58 UT. The
sky was partly cloudy with periods of no clouds, transparency 8/10, and
seeing was good to excellent, 8/10, with a 2mph N. wind. Light dew was
present. The weather was cool with the temperatures in the upper 50s F
around dawn.
