A sequence of four (4) Jupiter images; poor seeing, but some interesting detail
throughout. Note particularly the large reddish/ruddy brown STZ oval that precedes the
GRS and is lower in southern latitudes; it can be seen at about Long. II 75 deg., and is
particularly noted as it rounds the limb in the first image and progresses toward the CM
through, seen slightly past it in the final image; note its dominance over the STB and a
very slight intrusion north of this feature INTO (hence over) the STrZ which seems
significant. Also note in the final image the southern half of the STrZ and its similar
reddish coloration to that of this curious new oval. Notice the sudden irregularity and
disruptive nature of the SEBs beginning at about Long II 20 deg. and continuing to about
Long. II 50 deg at which point it creates an upwelling SOUTH of the SEBs previous limit
and defines some interaction within the northern limits of the STrZ. The GRS hollow is
very well defined, particularly pointed in its sometimes characteristic "football" shape;
the fol. darkening of this hollow and the very dark nature of the southern region of the
GRS suggests strong current development and possible turbulence in the SEBs and STrZ in
days and weeks to come.

Here are a couple of tri-color processed images as the GRS turns into view from this
morning.

Here's my latest image of Jupiter with the GRS. Seeing varied this evening from 5/10 to 8/10 with transparency at around 3/5. Note the spots on the STB, SSTB and the SPR! Note the spots to the right of the GRS and also an interesting dark line from the GRS cutting through the SEB!! It seems like the GRS is about to consume some more spots. The NEB has some rifts. And the EB is filled with blue festoons.
