Dear obsevers
I attache the recent Jupiter images on 28th May 2005.
It was very good seeing.

Best Wishes

Taken through a whole in the clouds is here an observation from May 28. at 21:39 UTC.
We see Callisto in conjunction with the Southpole.Io is on the left with its shadow.
The seeing was poor with some fair moments.

I took a break from imaging last night and had a date with my wife. Tonight I was joined by Tomio and John Nassr.
John was able to fix the C11 and I'll try to image with it tomorrow. The image I am posting now are done with the C8.
Seeing was around 9/10 with 4/5 transparency tonight! As a bonus, Ganymede was close to Jupiter. Note the surface details on Ganymede!
The STB/SSTB is very busy in this image. While the NEB has a lot of white spot and dark red spot activity! We were also able to image Jupiter in IR800! Please click image below to enlarge!

during the best seeing conditions which I have seen during this opposition....
Very interesting the " Io " transit beginning and " Callisto " which approaching Jupiter....
some details are visibles on Callisto surface !

Here the Io image taken on may 28.. it's the same of Jupiter image but resampled and digitalized with U.M. and Gauss filters...

After a long run with imaging I had a break, so I started with processing!
Here attached find one of my best image session with Jupiter showing for my very first time features over Callisto!

Any image of the 3 recorded by myself (4 if we also consider the color image taken indipendently by Carmelo Zannelli
with a webcam and his C9.25 at the same time of mine which I used here for the LRGB composition) do show always the
same feautures recognized as the clear Adlinda region with Lofn bright crater inside but unresolved -very close to
the South Pole- and the dark ground in the center of the disc.
Those features were recognized looking at USGS map:

http://geopubs.wr.usgs.gov/i-map/i2770/

To have that map matched with my images a 180 degs rotation must be performed to have the south at top. The longitude is centered at 0°

It's a shame Jupiter is saying goodby right now we're ready to image it so in depth! :-(
