Each IR image is composed of two or three seperate sequences taken across ~10mins. I attach the two that made the April 15th image both showing exactly the same markings. These low contrast IR features are definatly real, and they are not the inverse of the UV markings (as Christophe already said.) I think it must be a deeper atmospheric level - how deep i cant say.
