 北極フードの明るさの違いは肉眼観測でも記録された。オリンピカ(Nix Olympica;
135W,+25)は黒い斑点に写っていたが、今日はアスクラエウス(Ascraeus;

The difference in the brightness of the North Polar hood was recorded also by
visual observation. Although Nix Olympica (135W,+25) was reflected like
dark spot, Ascraeus (105W,+20) and Pavonis (110W,+10) were also observed
darkly today. However, Arsia Silva (125W,-4) was observed brightly on
the contrary, and signs that orographic clouds were flowing west were
recorded. The deep portion of hood is recorded also on Ortygia (350W,+56).
Einaga caught this situation vividly.

After more than one month of inactivity mainly due to some problems with my EM200 (now solved) here are my last images of the red planet.

Damian Peach (350mm Celestron SCT)
Here are some images from this morning. Seeing was fairly decent for these,but again rapidly worsened again.

Note the detailed "spiderweb" appearance of Solis Lacus being radically different from its 2005 appearance (see here:)

Tharsis volcanoes are apparent,though less dark away from the terminator. The Arsia cloud is again weakly visible.

Mars from October 21,note the huge diference on the aspect of the NPH considering my images from October 20

slightly delayed by the evanescent
excitement of the comet: an RGB set and three (IR)(SG)B sets.

The former shows the best detail, especially in the north polar area, where
there seems, as Christophe noted, to be an area of pinkish polar cap that has
come out from behind the clouds of the hood.
