2007/03/31 - UT: 17:08 (RGB),UT: 17:11 (IR),UT: 17:45 (UV)
Meade 14" (356mm) LX200GPS (SC) efl=9000mm
Filters: RGBset & IRpassPRO (Astronomik) & UVpass+IRcut for UV band
Camera: ImagingSource DMK21AF04 mono
Seeing very good,Trans. average (dew and skylight)
Comments: Banding of atmosferic dettails at efl of 9mt. Notice the
banding in UV and also in IR. In this last case the IR banding is very
sharp. It's visible also in the IR-RGB version where the IR channel has
been used as luminance.

A new observer Antonello Medugno of Italy took a nice snapshot of
Venus in UV light on March 31st at 17:45 UT. It was taken with a C14. Mine
was taken 5 hrs later at 22:45 UT with a Meade 10-inch.
I put together a short animation and you can see clearly the
rotation of the clouds from right to left. (NORTH at top and WEST at right). Note
that bright area (just south of equator) comes into view.
