(reported by 3 observers)

When Hellas (295W,-50) is seen at noon of Mars,it turns out that it is not
observed brightly. It seems that it is in the tendency recorded thickly
by a image although Syrtis Major (295W,+10) looks thin with the naked
eye. It seems that the clouds of the Antarctic region are quite light.

This is the best result from a rather poor time recently. The night
of 27/28 Jan cleared when Mars was already getting low,but there was
some rather good seeing in misty conditions,in which I also had
briefly a fine visual view of Saturn, before fog obscured all.

The channels were faint, particularly the blue, which is consequently
noisy.

Hellas is looking much more normal in albedo now.

Mars not much better than the previous one 2 days ago, under average seeing
and transparency:
Apparent diameter is decreasing now very fast .
