subject: 2009/07/14 UARS observations ____________________________________ The Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS( was orbited by STS-48 in 1991. An orbit lowering burn was performed in 2005, followed by the passivation of the spacecraft. But thanks to this lower orbit, now comparable with that of the ISS, the relatively large satellite can show considerable detail in smaller telescopes. Here is a set of frames,the first image shows increased color saturation. Interesting is the rich variation of color within certain larger parts of the spacecraft.
