This must be first views of the HTV actually in orbit, before the cameras
of the ISS capture it later this week...
I took them even through a small cloud gap, see below.
2009/09/13_Japanese Transfer Vehicle(HTV-1) observations
Here are some of the best frames of an observing session of the HTV-1, a victory, as clouds
have ongoing disabled observations for days. This image required the maximum of my
imaging skills as I took in through a gap in the clouds, and the vehicle moves considerable
faster then the ISS, due to the still lower altitude. Thanks to this lower altitude however,
detail is easier to capture. I have marked some of the spacecraft components which are
recognizable on the image. Note also the visible dark band around the mid, this is probably
the structure of solar panels wrapped around the vehicle, different then the Progress or
ATV with extended solar panels.
The high color saturated processing, added below in the image, was applied since
earlier visual naked-eye observations I did, indicated an interesting color hue.

2009/09/13 HTV-1 observations final processing

Here is the final frame-processing of the HTV-1 observations,
3 days after launch, when the altitude of the vehicle was still
below 300 km. We recognise clearly the shape with one thinner
end, the Propulsion section, and the other thicker end.
