I promised no more Jupiter images from this data... but I hope you'll excuse an image of Io, showing some interesting stuff including a nice dark spot in the blue channel image. I saw this while processing the Jupiter images in recent days and wanted to come back and reprocess that region with a focus specifically on Io to see how much I could extract.
(also it's overcast and raining, and this data is too tempting to leave alone...)
The red channel image shows the expected polar darkening, but also a hint of a bright spot close to the south pole, appearing as a small notch.
The green channel image looks as expected, although there is a small amount of asymmetry in the polar darkening between north and south.
The blue channel shows a surprising dark spot quite prominent in the southern hemisphere. I'd be very interested if anyone can identify that as associated with any of the known geological regions.
This is sent as four separate images, with a colour composite as well just to give an approximate real view. Io is 1.2" in diameter at present.
