例年、南西の風が吹いてシーイングが良くなる頃なのですが、
今だに、季節外れの北風でした。

雲は多いけど久しぶりに惑星を撮影できる夜でした。
しかし、気流は相変らず悪いです。

Ralf Vandebergh(250mm Newton)
Red light observation April 24 in considerably turbulent air
due to approaching clouds. A shadow transit of Dione was
captured though and less contrasty a sign of Tethys shadow as well.

10 inch Newtonian,ATK-1HS,R25a

Processing by the use of different frames illustrated the
effect of turbulent air: this time more detail within the
rings, but shadows more difficult visible,in fact Tethys
shadow not visible at all. I consider this as the better
result though.

8" Newtonian,eyepieceprojection,1/15 sec. exposer time each colour.
40% of 900 images,good seeing,but mad transpareny by
ashparticles/aerosols from Eyjafjallajokul volcano in Iceland. I had to
push the gain of my DMK 21AF04.AS up to maximum and the images still
have been underexposed. No shadows of the moons,no storm visible, the
image is tooo noisy :-((...

Marc Delcroix (254mm SC)
Last saturday i got conditions good enough to do a long run on Saturn and a double transit, catching the storm but unfortunately very faintly and not with a good resolution.
Nonetheless the storm is clearly now again very spread (17°, around 18 000 km!), as Trevor's image confirmed 4 days later:

Here is also an animation with high pass red filter, showing clearly the double transit of Tethys and Dione shadows (the satellites themselves can hardly or not be seen, maybe because transiting in front of EZs which is very bright):

The following montage is only interesting because it shows all bright satellites of Saturn neatly aligned with the rings as we are still close to equinox:

Unfortunately tonight i could not image because of a terrible seeing (due to burst of wind) and tomorow i probably won't be able either given the weather forecast.
