Well, here's my first Jupiter observation of the new apparition! I had some moments of good seeing, but alas Spode produced clouds before I could finish the drawing and so many fine details are lacking. Of course once the clouds cleared the seeing became hopeless and I gave up!
The SEB seems to be quite broad now, indeed I had some difficulty in locating when it started and ended on it's south boarder; not only is there all sorts of chaotic turbulence but a number of different colours also seem to be present,I had some difficulty in getting them. It also seemed that there was a darker irregular region along the SEB(s) southern boarder which extended into the STropZ and maybe into the STB,but I am far from certain of this. Certainly the SEB is much more active and a good a little broader compare to the last observation I made.
The NEB too was full of interesting structure, and I was under the impression the belt may have been a little thinner than it was before. No filters work done, nor transits/intensity estimates made as the sky was far to light by the end of the session.

Tough getting up three mornings in a row but, whataya gonna do? Jupiter is out there waiting!

Here are some first images of Jupiter for me. Seeing was poor, but it was the occasion to test a new camera, the PLA-mx from iNova, that carries the ICX618ALA chip. The camera gives clean images and is promiseful for the future.
