More poor seeing this morning, but clear at least! Was hoping for better as the GRS was nicely on show.

Attached are two Jupiter drawings I made last night. I observed from 0032UT until 0345UT but this was not a continual watch as I was hampered by clouds. Seeing was good at times and I used a power of x250 through out the session. Main points of interest were as follows:
1. Details south of the STB are harder to pick out except in in conditions AIII or better- it seems that either the white spots in the south are fainter or they are smaller- certainly they are not as easy to pull out visually as in the last apparition.
2. The STB and SSTB seem not to be continuous and in some longitudes appear to either break up or contain gaps. They are not of uniform thickness.
3. GRS is harder to see (both colour and intensity) compared to last year- the spot has a dark grey boundary that seems to come from the grey SEB(s). The SEB is quite churned up and contains many grey diagonal sections.
4. NEB quite active- it contains a number of prominent dark barges. The northern edge of the belt also contains either a number of white ovals,or oval indentations- it is hard to be certain.
5. Both the NTB and NNTB contain a number of prominent darker sections.
Both transit times were made of the main dark barges and ovals, and an intensity estimate set was collected in IL. Moved on to start the new Mars apparition after 0345UT

Murky transparency and at capture the seeing looked very ropy. I'm rather surprised a decent result turned out.
The massive NEB dark barge is very prominent with Europa at bottom right.
