Further colour impressions of Titan were attempted: to clarify my comments on
carbon stars and W Bootis on May 12

I here quote my letter earlier today to Paul Abel:

"Dear Paul,
I have just read with interest your comments on Titan's colour. I'm afraid
that,as I suspected when I wrote it,I might have given the impression that I
was saying that W Bootis was a carbon star. To my best knowledge it is simply a
'run of the mill' M type Giant that I know well from my years of celestial
wanderings! It was the only 'red' star I could think of in the circumstances of
haste at the time with no charts to hand. I did not want a brighter example as
this would have been too 'white' with the D-K's light grasp.

Apologies for the misleading - and we do not want to upset the VS observers!

Looks like clear tonight and I'm going to check Sky Map for a better 'red' star
example; but perhaps we should continue to include W Boo for consistency. If I
find a redder candidate [Y CVn] perhaps we can use them to bracket Titan,
possibly using a 5 or 10 step scale. We could use this also with the next
apparition as Saturn will not have moved too far."

I was fortunate to catch another excellent evening on May 20th though rather breezy again from the SW.
Have also attached a short animation of integrated light images.
