Just performing back some observations about Uranus with the 305mm.
I presume a clear patch had been collected with the similar expected
location.
However this can't be verified after some times (1H after,2H,etc...)
The brightness is on a level above the EZ fillet.
Needs good images that was for short time.
The sketches given shows highly amplified contrasts level indeed but the
grey tones shown expect to reproduce an actuality.

An interesting observation from last night. At the time of observation seeing was around AII-III and the sky was reasonably transparent. It seemed to me that there was a rather bright EZ which contained two brighter regions, one near the CM and one on or just after the CM (the spots are hard to pick up on the attached drawing due to my hesitance over the existence). There also appeared to be a darker band just 'above' the equator.
What can we make of this? I am still torn between it being an illusion and reality. The features were present at x250,x312 and x400 but I am unable to shake my skepticism over their reality. What I would say is that if there are other images/drawings suggesting a similar phenomena at this CM then this observation could be be cited confirmation with the usual degree of caution. Uranus is a master of illusion for the visual observer.

I recently sent this to John Rogers and Mike Foulkes and it seems that I got the bright spot visually. This is what I wrote them on that night at 20:35: Hi Mike/John, I may have rather more than a hint of the bright spot recently reported: it seems a little brighter than the narrow light zone [EZ(S)??] I have been getting (Aug & earlier apparitions - see ALPO-J). Visible in infrared I know but I get the impression that they may manifest somewhat in the visual: I have recorded subtle features (activity?) in these latitudes for some while now.
I have a drawing for 19:50 UT in near perfect seeing; and hope to get straight back to the D-K to make some intensity ests. and hopefully another drawing. Full report possibly Thurs. after the ongoing DIY work is tackled whilst weather allows!!
Have a fair few obs. to submit and have not reported anything to ALPO-J since August due to the re-construction work - indoors and out. Closing now to dark-adapt.
