Transparency was very poor this evening. I was only able to salvage one image.
Jupiter is still the same. The SEB is complex and wide while the NEB is narrow. Nothing special in this region.

Attached are two Jupiter drawings I made on the evening of the 23rd of January. The planet is on the CM at sunset,so there are probably only a few more months left of the current apparition for me. Seeing was decidedly variable through out the night, but I was able to discern a few interesting things.
Drawing 1: Oval BA now near to the proc. limb. There is no sign of any colour at all. Indeed,if it were not for the dark material surrounding it in the south tropical band and the STB I doubt I should be able to detect it all. SEB broad,SEBz rather orange, but not uniformly so,some brighter and darker regions present. EZ bright and contained a number of festoons,NEB quiet. NTB and NNTB visible.
Drawing 2: StropB could bse seen only towards the CM. SEB(n) and SEB(s) seem to be a brownish colour,SEBz orange- more so than the NEB which has a reddish orange colour to it. Some dark festoons present in the EZ at these longitudes. NTB and NNTB faint as before, but there seemed to be an irregular darkish feature on or near the NPR.
Intensity estimate set taken,no filter work done. Did the Orion star count for the BAA at 2012UT,counted 15 stars but suspected 17. Not too bad for Leicester, although of course it would be delightful to have the full night sky!!

Average conditions this time - Weather and seeing does not seem to improve here, some Vog and windy conditions for some time.
