seeing was poor.

James Willinghan (304mm SCT)
There was a good amount of dew Friday morning and a lot of moisture in the air.
so even though seeing was pretty good, the transparency wasn't.
There was even a halo around the moon.
I only took three sets of images and after the first set another moon appeared next to Jupiter.
Come to find out that while Io was passing in front of Jupiter,Europa was sitting (passing behind) within the planets shadow during my first image.
For the second image Europa appeared for about 20 minutes before disappearing again behind the planet.
Was pretty neat to watch and imagine that the shadow Jupiter was casting was going between where the two moons were.
Here is the second image I took.

Damian Peach (356mm Celestron SCT)

Very strange seeing this night.
The live view was rather fuzzy/poorly contrasted
but stable so stacked allot better than i expected it too.
The GRS and BA are centre with Io's shadow on the left hand side.
Nice colour tones across the EZ....

We had a break in the clouds yesterday, but the seeing was just fair as a moderate jet stream interfered. Here is an image from the session showing Jupiter with Europa and a short animation showing the icy moon slipping into Jupiter's shadow.
