Clif Ashcraft(184mm Schupmann)
After a long period of impossible observing conditions including a hurricane and a nor'easter snow storm,
I have begun imaging Jupiter again with my Flea3 color video camera coupled to the 184 mm f/14 Schupmann medial
with a 2x shorty Barlow lens giving an effective focal ratio of f/30.8. Seeing was around 5/10 and transparency fair.
Seven videos of 60 seconds duration were taken over the period from 8:38 to 848 UT using Firecapture and
a shutter speed of 13 ms and a frame rate of 75 fps. Gain was set to the maximum at 3318 and gamma was set to 1.00.
The videos were preprocessed using PIPP to center, crop and sort by quality, saving out only the 1200 best frames
out of around 4000 taken. Registax6 was then used to align and stack all 1200 frames of these videos to give 7 images.
These seven images were derotated and stacked using WinJUPOS and the result sharpened again using Registax6.
The annotated result is attached. This is a shorter focal ratio than I usually employ,
but the seeing did not support any higher magnification.

Wayne Jaeschke(356mm SCT)
Thanks to a hurricane (in which the lowest pressure recorded at my observatory was 950mb
as the center of circulation passed overhead and the highest wind gust was 74mph),
a glancing blow from a or aster and endless nights of clouds,it's been nearly two months
since I was able to image. We had clear skies and fairly good seeing at times last night
for these images taken as the GRS rotated into view. Jupiter certainly has grown since
I last saw it in mid-September!

Attached are a couple of images from last night. We had some decent seeing in the UK at long last. Lots of detail in both SEB and NEB which are very active
at the moment. Also some nice festoons across the Eq regions.
