We had some good seeing for a time and a number of subtle features could be discerned at x250 and x312.
Drawing 1: Syrtis Major coming into view. The edge of Hellas coming onto the fol. limb. The northern part of Syrtis Major seemed to be fainter and of a bluish colour, undoubtedly due to the presence of cloud. Near by Libya was also bright as was the area imediately proc. the Syrtis Major. Mare Cimmerium dark some interesting dark structures present,in the far south Eridania was bright but not as bright was when last observed. Further north,Boreosyrtis was well defined and Elysium near to the proc. limb. Lowell band dark,NPC small.
Drawing 2: Syrtis Major now just after the CM. Northern end still a bluish colour. Mare Hadriacum dark, and a dark border seemed to be present around the northern edge of the Hellas basin. Hellas itself was very bright and a white colour and looked rather like a south polar cap. Sinus Sabeus can also be seen, quite dark in places. Proc limb quite bright.
