A brief spell of decent seeing (its been mostly poor this week despite clear weather) allowed me to attempt imaging Uranus for the first time using my 685nm IR filter. The image is the result of ~45mins worth of frames collected. I carefully focused on nearby 44 Piscium as this was easier than on the disk itself.
The result seems to show some faint banding across the disk. Interestingly past images taken using a 600nm long pass filter never showed any banding at all so this is the first time something has shown up in images ive taken. Some French observers also recently employed this filter with positive results so its definitely worth others trying using large scopes.
