Attached is a Venus drawing I made in very poor conditions on the 23rd January. To be honest, the seeing was so poor I have very little confidence in it at all!! I meant to start earlier and do some filter work when then planet weas higher in the sky, alas I did not get back from the university of leicester in time though.
Illuminated Disk: In the few brief moments it seems that there was a lot of subtle details on the disk, however in the generally poor conditions, I could only get down the most prominent markings. Markingsd had a slight bluish tint to them
Unilluminated Disk: I examined the night side with a curved occulting bar- there was no sign of the night side nor the ashen light.
Bright Limb Band: Visible and Complete.
Terminator: Geometrically regular. I estimated a phase form the disk drawing to be about 68%, the theoretical phase was 76%.
Cusp Regions: Both present, but I suspected the north cusp cap may have been slightly brighter.
