Attached are three Venus drawings I made this evening. I started observations relatively early ay 1620UT,the sky was rather light and this really helped to reduce the glare. Moreover with the planet higher in the sky I was able to use a power of x250. I used a number of filters W#47,21,96 and 11 and obtained some interesting results.

Illuminated Disk: Some subtle markings on the disk which appeared to be a greyish blue colour. As well as the subtlke streaks which were present, there also appeared to be some brighter regions on the disk.

Unilluminated Disk: Not visible,no hint of the Ashen light.

Bright Limb Band: Visible and complete.

Terminator: geometrically regular. terminator shading seen properly for the first time in this elongation

Cusp Regions: Both present and of equal brightness, both cusp collars present (though difficult) and equal.

1655UT (#47): An interesting view. The markings on the disk seemed to be darkest in this filter than in any of the others used and in IL. The phase in this filter was noticeably reduced- I estimated a phase= 61% in this filter.

1721UT (#22 Orange): In this filter the phase appeared to be much larger- much closer to the theoretical phase of 74%. I estimated a phase in W#21 to be about 67%. The markings in this filter are much more subtle, but more enhanced than in IL.

1725UT (W#96 Netural Density): Markings in this filter are perhaps slightly easier to see than in IL,but still not as prominent as in W#47.

1725UT (W#11 Yellow-Green): A nice filter which enhances the markings in a rather subtle way. Seeing really dropping off now as the planet has started to sink into the lower depths.

Comments: Very cold evening. My first combination of UV and IR-Pass images of
Venus, under use of a synthetic green channel as mix of both. Nice result
showing cloud formation.
