and 158x in different colors.
The cap extensions with the violet filter are not the same in the other
filters.
A brighter dot is present in the caps located at the pole center.
The caps are brordered by the darkest bands on the venus pattern.
Please note the 2 clear fillets in the venus atmosphere with the red filter.
With the red filter the first look impress involved to me some moltened
features,with less banded appearance.

Although the MET office had forecast clouds,it was in fact clear,and Venus,Jupiter and the new Moon formed a beautiful trio in the evening sky. I used three filters #47,#21 and #12 and phase estimates were made with all of these as well as in ordinary integrated light. As usual,the #47 gave the smallest phase and the #12 gave a value closest to the theoretical.
Illuminated Disk: A number of interesting but subtle markings. I had the impression that there were two dark features with a 'wind swept' appearance,one in the north and one in the south,both of these separated by a brighter region near the centre of the disk. These markings and configuration were present in all the filters,though perhaps best seen in a #47 and #12.
Unilluminated Disk: Night side not seen,no sign of the Ashen Light.
Limb Band: Visible and complete.
Terminator: geometrically regular. Dark grey terminator shading present.
Cusp Regions: Both cusp caps present,south cusp cap probably the largest of the two. Both seemed to be about the same brightness.
Cusp Collars: Both present,but I found the southern cusp collar easier to see and seemed to be better defined.
