Seeing was excellent this evening but I had to deal with intermittent clouds. The SEB looks complex. Note the dark barges on the SEBs.
There is a bright outbreak on the NEBs/EZ which seem to be associated with a festoon. This outbreak is bright in UV and Methane Band.

Seeing continued to improve tonight, giving my best capture of the year so far.
This was in spite of some high cloud, and running out of disk space on the PC,so I was not able to capture my usual 3 x RGB all of 1 minute,
but only 2 x RGB. My thanks to Dave Tyler for some processing tips, which I have attempted to put into practice to give a less "washed-out" result than before.

Imaged Jupiter last night, the first IR data set looked promising but the seeing dropped off rapidly and the following RGB is not up to the quality of the IR.
The IR has Oval BA toward the P limb with some quite nice detail following it in the STrB.There are 2 nicely resolved tiny white ovals in the STeB.
There is a line of turbulence along the Northern edge of the SEB which is well resolved along with some prominent festoons in the EZ.
I also note a prominent white spot on the Southern edge of the NEB midway between the CM and F limb. There also is some large scale structure toward the NPR.

Seeing was very bad but nevertheless I chose to take an red channel image using my Truss Tube Newtonian. I tried to process the image very smooth to prevent to much noise.

Herewith two imaging results on Jupiter, dated February 16th 2014 at 19h43 and 20h37 UT.
Imaging done with Celestron 14,2.5x powermate projection,RGB Baader filterset, use of dispersion corrector and webcam DMK21AU618.

Some imaging results on Jupiter through a Baader red filter with Celestron 14,2.5x powermate projection and webcam DMK21AU618.
Date : February 16th 2014 at 19h43 UT & 20h11 UT & 20h37 UT.

After many days of rain and clouds I had good seeing conditions in the evening of February 16th 2014.
Herewith two results with C14,2.5x powermate projection, dispersion corrector used,RGB Baader filter and webcam DMK21AU618.

Hello, here is a set in good conditions with J. in zenith. A comparison set with colour and monochrome camera.
Very turbulent area F of GRS. The 3 white ovals are well resolved.2 outbreaks in NEB.For some reason the CH4 turned out very poor...

The red SPR spot is methane bright(MB).Also a white spot (also MB)
is visible in (B=-50,338,5 system2).The "michey" ovals are setting. Oval BA continue to interact with dark STB sector.
High alt. clouds of STrZ interfere in SEBs creating two white bays. There is a MB bright rift in NEB. NTZ disturbnace is visible.
Many spots are visible in NPR.

Quite stable night...few moments where seeing was 6-7/10. Transparency was excellent.
Main structures are immediatly visible altough a very weak elaboration has been used.

Here are some Jupiter images from Feb 16th. Excellent seeing but poor transparency with high and low clouds throughout.

Two separate regions of the planet are nicely seen. The region following the GRS with oval BA.
Also note the far southern orange coloured oval. The later image shows the regions following oval BA with outbreak on the NNTB.
