Here is a colour image from last night (Feb 5) showing Io in transit.
Seeing was quite good,but interrupted by cloud.


Had some good seeing for a while this morning,here's an IR image of Jupiter with Io in transit,
almost covering it's own shadow as we're close to opposition.

upiter opposition is now very close. Note how close Io is to it's shadow.
The White Spot Z is well resolved and it surrounded by a reddish wake.
The NEB is quiet in this region.   The red barge on the NTB seem to be breaking up.
