Imaged Saturn May 13th,seeing was effected by the jet stream to various degrees but have a few data sets from the session.

This is Saturn in average seeing and (very) low altitude (26 degrees).
Even with the ADC is hard to make good images without very good seeing.

We noted what we termed a large "rift" or "disturbance" in one of Saturn's
Northern bands in the area from 60°N to 67°N at L1 = 183° L2 = 260° L3 =
266° (approximate) in these images.

Although we do not think that it had been reported upon before (we notified
BAA & PVOL) we then examined ALPO images from other contributors from
earlier dates & were able to ascertain that this feature had been in
existence for some time, albeit slightly different in appearance & often
somewhat obscure...some imagers referring to it as a "dark spot."

At the time it appeared like a "notch" in the darker more northerly
band/belt adjacent to the lighter more southerly band/belt ( which we
interpret as the NNTeZ & NNTeB)

The iR742nm images displays the greatest contrast as would be expected
although the r & r animation as well as the rgb define it better for that
particular date.

Subsequent images show this feature evolving rapidly & changing in
appearance to what looks like a dark spot with a proceeding longitudinal
disturbance or "wake."
