Venus is now becoming well placed in my western sky and as usual I viewed it during daylight hours. There appeared to be a number of subtle cloud markings on the disk, and the Schroder effect was very prominent in the W47. Other points include:
Illuminated Disk: In IL there appeared to be a dark vertical streak on the disk, this view changed somewhat in other filters.
Unilluminated Disk: Not visible.Bright Limb Band: Visible and Complete.Terminator: Geometrically regular.
Crisp Caps: Both seemed to be present but overall I had the impression that the north cusp cap was the more conspicuous of the two.
Cusp Collars: Both seem to be present, but not easily visible.
1616UT W25A, x111: An interesting view in this light- the longer wavelengths are less disturbed by the poor seeing. The markings are present but much harder to see. The vertical streak appears to be composed of multiple patches in this light.
1623UT W47, x111: Dichotomy appears to be nearby in this filter! The dark cloud markings are easier to see and have a much more definitive structure.
