Attached is an observation of Venus I made this morning. The planet was easily visible to the naked eye against the blue sky.
A number of interesting features seemed to be present on the disk:
- Illuminated Disk: Terminator shading present, along with general hue of disk.
- Unilluinated Disk: not visible.
- Bright Limb Band: Visible and Complete.
- Terminator: Geometrically regular.
- Cusp Caps: The north cusp cap seemed to be larger than the south- this was more obvious in the W15 and W47 filters.
- Cusp Collars: The southern cusp collar seemed to be more prominent than the northern one- again this was more evident in the W15 and W47 filters.
The promised clouds closed in at 0935UT so Venus observations were concluded.
