Hi all, poor seeing continues with the jetstream here, but there are
infrequent moments when the seeing is good enough to record some IR
data. Here's an image of Jupiter from last night showing Io and it's
shadow in the north and Oval BA in the south.

My first imaging session in over a month, where I attended the highly successful Europlanet Juno workshop in London,
but also suffered an accident, necessitating an operation to stabilise a fractured pelvis.
Recovery will be slow, but the plan is to set up remote operation of my observatory
which will allow me to cover the coming months as comprehensively as possible.
I have unfortunately missed some interesting action, but looking forward to contributing again. [Clyde Foster:Centurion,South Africa]

Attached is a observation of Jupiter I made on 5th June. Seeing was initially fair but decayed as the planet descended. Some interesting details visible on the disk:

- White regions visible in the SSTB.
- Oval BA near to the prec. limb. Dark material surrounding it extends out along the belt.
- SEB quite broad.
- EZ very interesting- there is now a strong colouration in much of the zone- indeed this seems to have increased since my last observation. Are we returning to the view to be had in the 1960s whereby the EZ became very dark?
- NEB very active- it's northern edge is very irregular.
- NTB a vague golden band.
- NNTB a dark grey band, slightly irregular in places.

A lot of clear evenings here in June. On these evenings the seeing was slightly more adequate.
I’ve established the problem I referred to with image timings being the start, not the middle,of the capture only occurs with Firecapture versions earlier than 2.5.
I’m using FC 2.6 now,but in this version the gamma control does not work for the Grasshopper camera, whereas in FC 2.4 it did [David Arditti: Edgware Middlesex HA8 5LW: United Kingdom]
