Comment by Makoto Adachi
 Gary Walker
Mare Cimmerium

Today I could record almost the whole circumference except near Tharsis.
The northern hemisphere expanded to the east and spread further east than Elysium.
The southern hemisphere also spread to
the south of Mare Sirenum, and it seems that it spread almost all around. Also, near the Mare Tyrrhenum, the dust storm spreads
like a band that crosses north and south, and it seems to diffuse to the east.
In the image of Mr. Gary Walker,it is recorded that most of the SPC is covered and dusted by the dust storm. In the sunny part,
Mare Cimmerium is visible, but this will also be covered with dust storms in the near future.
The dust storm north of Mare Sirenum, which was discovered on June 12,spread out and became unclear. However, its influence or
its surroundings seems to be covered widely by dust veil.

The SW monsoon is at full swing here in Cebu. Seeing was very unstable.
Weather has been so bad here that I had a late start with Mars.
I was a bit perplexed when I saw Mars. I could hardly recognize it!
The dust storm has covered Sinus Meridiani where the Mars Rover Opportunity is located.
Unfortunately,NASA has lost contact with this rover. I hope the rover will survive this storm!
This dust storm seems to be moving towards Chryse! Note the bright clouds over Mare Australe.

Finally a morning with good enough conditions for imaging here.
Northern dust obscures the Elysium region and apparently extends southerly through Tyrrhenum/Hesperia and south of Cimmerium.

The capture was under the effect of Sahara dust and good seeing conditions.

Attached are my first results of Mars this year.
The red planet ist very low in the sky for german observers this year,
so image quality isn't what a C14 normally can show (and many other examples in the list show).
But I have to be statisfied with this too.

IR only and the only image I was able to get.
