Mercury close to Eastern elongation from that slot of unseasonably clear and
warm weather we enjoyed at the end of Feb. Seeing very jumpy and distorting
but processing significantly improved with the use of a circularly symmetric
mask in PaintShopPro based on spin-blurred copy of the planet to remove the
edge rind artefact that is often so problematic with imaging this planet.
This then allowed further deconvolution processing to bring out more detail.
Messenger data included for comparison from Sky Safari.
