Mars getting really difficult now due to the low altitude at sunset and some
trees I have NW of me which mean I have just a short window in a bright
twilight sky to image. Last Tuesday in hazy skies my careful protractor
measurements and planning paid off, and with a good dose of luck, I picked
up Mars in the eyepiece though it was invisible in my 60mm finder. Seeing
was better than expected and half an hour of imaging yielded some details on
a disk only slightly larger than that of Uranus at 4.0".
