Anthony Wesley
here's a Venus image from yesterday afternoon through a UV filter
and using eyepiece-projection method for magnification instead of my usual Televue 5x Powermate.
It seems to give a reasonable result,I was curious about the UV transmission for the glass used in the eyepiece
(a "volcano top" Kokusai Kohki 9mm ortho purchased in 2012).
The image did appear quite a lot brighter in the UV channel
however I need to check my baffles etc to be sure this isn't just extra light leaking in.
There was no chance to record an IR image as setting up
and getting the eyepiece projection working took up all the available time just for one filter
and I chose to do UV as that would show the most detail and allow a comparison to the Televue Powermate.
