Hope everyone is going OK and keeping well? Attached are four drawings of Venus I made on 26th March in IL and a variety of filters.
Main points of interest:
- Illuminated disk: Some vague features present, overall cloud formations were hard to see.
- Bright Limb Band: Visible and complete
- Terminator: Geometrically regular, some dark temrinator shading present.
- Cusp Caps: Both present,I had the impression that overall the southern cusp cap was again the larger and brighter of the two.
- Cusp Collars: Both seem to be present, but the southern collar was easier to see.

First light of my Thorlabs FELH1000. A filter like this blocks most light reflected off the thick sulfuric acid clouds on the day-side.
The clouds also happen to be translucent at 1000nm,allowing the faint infrared light emitted by the surface to be seen on the night-side.
After finishing up with the Thorlabs FELH1000,I swapped to the usual imaging train for an RGB image.
I applied a stronger sharpening than usual to bring out the faint details in the clouds.
