Weather has been absolutely horrible here, but tonight it finally cleared up long enough to catch Mars.
The sky was unsteady though in an arctic airmass〓with hail and snow a couple of hours earlier.
On Mars,Hellas on the evening limb was slightly brightish and the NPH very thin and faint.
Possibly there is a faint Antarctic cloud band as well.
With Mars so well placed〓early in the〓evening I will keep following as long as possible, even if it will be sporadic.
With the present turn of the weather, there may be more opportunities〓for imaging〓this week.

I was able to make two drawings of Mars this evening;
The first one in the hour after sunset when I enjoyed excellent seeing and a very transparent sky,
and the second one much later when the seeing was still excellent but the transparency was poor.
〓
Drawing 1
The NPH was very narrow, with a thin very bright hard-edged band of white seen along the northern limb (possibly the cap),
and just a little mistiness encroaching further onto the disc. This impression was consistent in integrated light and W21 orange.
There was evening mist to the East of Syrtis Major which did not look bright white, but slightly yellowish,
but almost no evening limb mist in the south of the disc.
Grey morning mist was present along much of the terminator.
Hellas was drab in its eastern half, bright in its western half,
and brighter still in the north-western part near to Yaonis Fretum, possibly misty there?
The entire southern part of the disc, including Hellas, appeared to be veiled by a very thin layer of mist,
almost imperceptible, but reducing contrast of the surface features just a little.
At the south pole there was a glimmer of whiteness which would sometimes look as though it had a central condensation,
while at other times it looked fairly smooth.〓
〓
Drawing 2
NPH was wider and〓bright bluish white, with a soft southern edge and no sign of the cap.
The SPR looked much the same as it had a few hours earlier with just a faint whitish glimmer right at the end of the terminator.
Hellas was on the evening limb now and was very bright with white mist.〓
There was also a little more evening limb mist in Aeria.
