I had pretty good seeing conditions for these UV and IR captures of Venus on October 17th.
The UV image shows quite a lot of detail. The equatorial region, near the Central Meridian,
again¬exhibits quite a dark area surrounded by the classic although not so well defined¬chevron cloud formations.¬
For the IR capture I used the Chroma Methane Band filter at IR 889nm with a 20nm bandwidth.
I find the narrow bandwidth limits atmospheric¬dispersion¬at the lower altitudes for Venus and makes for clearer images than standard IR bandpass filters such as my ZWO IR 850nm BP filter.
There is a dark north south feature on the f side of the central meridian, which is darker to the south. This was present in sequential¬imaging runs, so is unlikely to be an artefact.
I include the IR(G)UV false colour combination.
