天頂付近でシーイングは比較的良好であった。季節風が強く厳しい寒さであった。北極付近の雲はいくぶん縮小したように見える。
Seeing was relatively good near zenith. It was bitterly cold with strong monsoon winds. Clouds around the North Pole appear to have shrunk somewhat.

We had clear skies last night- in general seeing was rather good although there was some high level loss of definition at times. The primary feature on the disk was Solis Lacus, other details observed were as follows:
・Markings visible to the far south- Mare Oceanidum.
・Solis Lacus quite prominent with Thaumasia and Foelix seen.
・Mare Erythraeum showed a lot of fine details- Aurorae Sinus quite dark and Agathodaemon prominent.
・Ophir very bright tonight- white clouds present ・ Ganges seen as a darker streak.
・The preceeding limb was bright with clouds and there seemed to be clouds present in Chryse.
・Niliacus Lacus and Acidalium can also be seen near the preceeding limb.
・Nilokeras quite distinctive.
・Later, the edge of Mare Sirenum could be seen- evidence of clouds on the following limb and also to the south.
・Vague streaks and markings in Tharsis and Arcadia.
・Northern polar hood quite striking and asymmetrical near Acidalium. Olympus Mons present near the following limb in drawing 2.

The frigid air provided good seeing on the 14th with just a little softness and movement in the disc.
The NPH appeared much brighter and more extensive to the east at Acidalium; to the west it was wispy and filamentous in structure.
Oxia Palaus was obvious and bold despite evening mist nearby at the evening limb.
The southern edge of Niliacus Lacus showed structure.
The northern edge of Mare Erythraeum also showed structure, and Ganges was visible.
Ophir was bright, but not with mist,it seemed to shine a golden colour.
In the south west of the disc Solis Lacus was affected by haze which extended thinly but uniformly from the limb,Phasis being almost invisible.
In the south east,Mare Erythraeum was shrouded by mist near the limb.

Only two images taken widely apart this evening under average seeing.
NPH changing from day to day (some times visibly within hours)
Overall haziness, especially on southeastern side of disk and on evening limb.
