Hi all, here's a false colour image of Uranus from last night taken through a 600nm longpass filter. Seeing was quite steady for the session with several 4-minute recordings merged to get this result. I've chosen to false-colour the planet to something approximating it's natural green for aesthetic purposes only. One interesting observation is that the bright polar hood appears to be disconnected from the edge of the planet at the top of the image. The false-colour effect may be misleading here due to the way it's created based on image brightness. It's possible the polar hood is simply less bright when viewed at higher angles. However even when left uncoloured it does look odd to see the whiter polar region disconnected from the north pole.[Anthony Wesley,Murrumbateman Australia] ≪アンソニ オーストラリア≫
