Here is a Mars report performed with a simple 102mm refractor.
Images were very good, almost perfect fixed images.
It was noted as a cloud,a thick veil at the terminator,in the Syria,Claritas,Tharsis zone area.
Insignificant brightness in the blue channel, bright without filter and with the W8 light yellow filter,a little less bright using the red W23A filter.
This presents typically dust event characteristics.
Anyway this needs confirmation because depending on the blue segment reflectivity of the veil.
A second observation with 1-2H separation will help a lot as well the use of a pure achromatic optical design. Seeing commands anyway.
Presently the refractor in use is very good for not saying excellent, because supporting 300x magnification without contrast loss.
