Please find attached an observation I made of Venus yesterday in good seeing conditions. There was a number of subtle cloud markings on the disk, and interestingly the markings and bright cusp caps came out best in the W47 violet filter.
We are now very close to dichotomy- in the drawing the phase looks like it is at 50% but it is in fact 51%. In poorer seeing conditions I imagine it would be incredibly difficult to distinguish that! I have been comparing the phase to a number of printed blanks that I have and I find that really helps in determining if the planet is at 50% illumination. Also:
Bright Limb Band: Visible and complete but near the centre of the disk whereby the bright limb seems to extend onto the disk into a bright region.
Terminator: Geometrically regular- terminator shading quite dark, and this is the first time I have been able to see it proeprly in this elongfation.
Cusp Caps: Both about equal- northern cusp cap seems to be a bit brighter. Both seemed very large in the W47 filter.
Cusp Collars: Both seen- probably about equal.

Conditions were even better than the day before,so B and UV shadings came out quite prominent. But note also the faint bands in the nothern hemisp. visible in G and IR.

Here is a venus report performed last 26th using the CC203mm.
Ashen light was not there.

A compilation of my observations of Venus from May 26th through at least seven different filters. Interestingly even normal RGB showed details (G and B taken with IR rejection filter). Best show of all came from IR 807.
