Attached is an observation of Venus made this morning in good seeing conditions. The sun was fairly low which meant it hadn't heated up the atmosphere and surrounding areas too much. The disk size is still large and so a power of x77 is sufficient to see the details.
The view with the W47 filter was interesting- the cusp caps did seem darker and a little blunter; this effect was absent in the W15,W21 and IL views. My current explanation is that the W47 has a low transmission and as the phase is still quite small, the cusp caps appear to be fainter at a small phase.
Bright Limb Band: Visible and complete:
Terminator: Geometrically regular
Cusp Caps: Darker in the W47.
Cusp Collars: Probably still not visible.
