Venus Image 2024/08/23(UT)

here is part of today's Venus data, as usually obtained in daylight and in the IR, with the aim of comparing results provided by my standard planetary mono camera (Mars M II, with camera window and sensor coverglass) and the mono planetary camera I modified for the next Venus night-side "season" (removed the sensor coverglass and replaced the camera window with an IR850 filter).
The modified camera is working perfectly, and remains as clean as it was in the beginning. I have been keeping all cameras at the telescope, always USB powered.
Similar albedo markings resulting from mid-altitude Venus clouds are seen in both images (MarsMII and QHY; they share the same IMX462 sensor). Please notice that the Sloan z'-s' alone filter was used in the Mars MII camera and the IR850 filter alone was used in the QHY camera. Also be aware that some rotation difference still exists between cameras, something that I tried to minimize in the mosaic.
Will continue to grab daily Venus data, and share it at 10-15 day intervals (a 6-day period obtained since my last contribution).
