I found some reasonable conditions about half an hour before sunset this afternoon, despite strong wind. Some indication of the cold collars in the UV.

I purchased the Torrent Photonics 1010nm FWHM 38nm filter to image the surface of Venus. I have to wait until the Venus is a crescent phase. In the meantime, I imaged Venus with three infrared filters namely the Baader Sloan (820-920nm) IR, Antlia 850nm longpass IR, and Torrent Photonics 1010 nm FWHM 38nm filter. Is there any advantage to using one filter over another? The images to me appear similar regardless of which filter was used.
How do I go about imaging the surface of Venus? Can anyone guide me into how to go about imaging the surface of Venus with the 1010nm IR filter? Look forward to hearing from Everyone.
