We had reasonable seeing here early this morning and IU made an observation fo Venus before the heat of the day started to build. I used a variety of filters to examine the disk which is now about 66% illuminated. There seemed to be a darker diagonal streak in the south and a fainter one to the north. Other points ionclude:
bright Limb Band: visible and complete
Terminator: Geometrically regular
Cusp Caps: The northern cusp cap was very large but dull, conversely the southern cusp cap was smal but rather bright.
Cusp Collars: The southern cusp collar was seen, and there seemed to be some darker shading around this region. The northern collar was much harder to see.
