1997/08/24: The Activity of North Temperate Current-C in 1997

北温帯流ーＣの活動1997年4月頃から、NTBsを高速に前進するいくつかの暗斑が活動していることを発見した。これらの暗斑は主にPic du Midi天文台が公開している近赤外画像上で見つかったが、アマチュアの冷却CCDカメラによる画像上にも、また眼視観測でもprojectionとして捉えられる暗斑もあった。 これらの暗斑を追跡したところ７個に分類することができ、体系Iに対して平均-60.7°/30日のドリフトを示すことから、これらが北温帯流−Ｃ(North Temperate Current-C)に属していることがわかった。平均の自転周期は9h49m 8.5sであった。 北温帯流−Ｃの活動は、最近では1964-65年、1970年、1975年、1980年、1990年に観測されていて、5年周期で発生している。これらの活動はNTBs Jetstream Outbreakと呼ばれ、NTBの濃化を伴う激しい変動であった。今回のNTBsの暗斑は1992年や1995年に見られた小規模の活動と同じと思われるが、眼視でも捉えられ、また全周に分布していることから注目される。 | |||
The Activity of North Temperate Current-C in 1997Some fast moving dark spots have been observed on NTBs near by NTropZ from April 1997. These dark spots were found on near-infrared images of Pic du Midi Observatory from WWW, and were also found on CCD images from H. Asada and K. Okuda. Several observers found some of these spots in visible. These dark spots were classified in seven groups, and have the mean drift of -61.0 degrees per 30 days relative to System I. These were belonged to the North Temperate Current-C(NTC-C), and have the mean rotation period of 9h49m8.2s.
